This 100% cotton lawn is HAND printed in India using the traditional block print technique. Hand-carved blocks are used, one for each outline or color. And the fabric is soft and smooth with a lovely drape.
This one has alternating larger sprigs of Purple leaves with stylized flowers in Mustard and smaller sprigs of just Purple. The design runs down the length of the fabric. Will look great as a late 18th century gown, either anglaise style or polonaise.
(NOTE: Due to the nature of these hand-done block prints, the colors may be uneven or misaligned. However, we think it adds to the beauty and contrasts with modern-made perfect prints. The colors do not run, but the fabric will have a distinctive “dye” smell until it is washed.)
