A Needle Pulling Thread: Hand Sewing Basics
Sunday, May 15th, 1-4 pm
Does the thought of a thimble make you a-tremble? Fear not! Hand sewing can be one of the most meditative and relaxing pursuits in our sewing room, and can even be portable enough to take our latest project to jury duty (ask me how I know).
Join us to learn basic sewing techniques that will have you mending or hand sewing a garment, or attaching a missing button with ease – as well as tips and tricks for hand-finishing to make the loyal sewing machinist’s life easier. Skills include thimble technique, starting and stopping your stitching cleanly and securely, and deciding which stitch to use when – and why. You’ll go home with a stitch sampler you made yourself and lots of fun facts about hand sewing.
Included Class Materials:
Stitch sampler worksheet
Muslin fabric to practice stitching on
Student Provides:

1 spool of thread in your favorite color (silk, cotton, or polyester all work)
